Hotwall is a service that delivers your message using web links.
When someone clicks a link you've created with Hotwall, your message is placed in a headline above the page. It credits you for creating the link, shows your picture, and displays your message with a link to your site.
Hotwall also encourages on-page discussion using the Hotwall sidebar.
A Hotlink is a web link created by Hotwall.
Anyone with a browser can use the Hotlinks you've created.
Anyone with a Twitter account can create a Hotlink.
The primary Hotwall service is free.
Optional services tailored for bloggers and businesses can be purchased from our products page.
The easiest way to start is to enter an URL at the top of any Hotwall.com webpage (like this page).
Once you've created a few Hotlinks, you'll want to add Hotwall to your browser. This lets you create a Hotlink from the page you're linking to.
Most browsers support bookmarklets, and if you're running the Firefox browser you can add it using the Firefox add-on.
See the "Add Hotwall" box to the right.
A bookmarklet is a browser bookmark that contains java code. The bookmark can live in your bookmarks/favorites menu, but usually a bookmarklet resides on the 'links' or 'bookmarks' browser toolbar.
To install a bookmarklet, just drag the bookmarklet link from the web page up to the links bar, or right click and "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark this Link".
If you have a Twitter account, you have a Hotwall account. The first time you use Hotwall, Twitter will ask you to authorize the application.
Discussions within the Hotwall sidebar are shown only to people that have access to your Hotlink.
If you've made your Hotlink public (by sending it to Twitter or another social network), anyone who clicks your Hotlink can see and engage in on-page discussions.
If for example you've shared your Hotlink in an email, your discussion will be with the recipients of that email.
